My name's Samantha and I decided to start this Charity about a year ago. I didn't really know where to start until someone told me that I should start a Blog! So, here I am! The charity is called 12 strings 4 Caroline. 12 Strings on a guitar, and Caroline is my grandmother who passed away eight years ago. It's for kids with learning disabilities. Focusing on kids with didabilities such as, ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Kids who can't take tests, ect.
When I was in school I was Identified as being Dyslexic and was unable to take test on my own. Once I started playing the Violin I realized that I can do anything! Including things in school! I realized that learning to play an instrument and acting helped me learn to focus. And that helped me in school. I soon got taken out of the special ed. classes and was put in AP classes.
So, I want to start this charity to help kids through Music, Theater and Dance. It's a way to help kids focus. Kids with learning disabilities can do things that other people can! I think that people look at kids with Learning Disabilities and say " Oh, well, they're never going to amount to anything." I had teachers tell me that all the time! Onces I showed them I could, they were shocked! I learned how to play the Violin, Guitar and Piano. I've also gotten in to acting. It's helped me a lot, and I hope that It will help other kids too!
